Foot and Ankle Injuries in Baton Rouge: Holidays are for Healing
Patrick Hall • October 8, 2020
Every year November and December are my busiest months for performing foot and ankle surgeries. In fact, over 25% of the surgeries I perform each year are done in the last 2 months. Popular surgeries include bunionectomy, hammertoe repair, and bone spur removal among others.
Want to know why?
1. Insurance deductibles dominate so many healthcare decisions, this is especially true when scheduling a surgery. As the calendar year nears its end, many patients suffering from painful foot conditions
realize that they have met or nearly met their insurance deductibles making it more affordable to schedule the surgery they need.
2. Patients are tired of suffering! With the New Year approaching, patients start forming new goals and often that involves healthy, pain free feet so they can do more! Of all the surgeries that I perform, no one ever says, “I wish I had suffered longer.” Imagine entering the New Year pain free!
3. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve often means more friends and family are around. This can be very helpful with small household tasks during the first week after surgery.
People help. You heal.
